Francis R. Murphy
Mr. Murphy is Founder, Past
President and CEO of Murphy Associates. He is currently a Consultant to the
firm. Frank has over thirty-five years of experience in government service at
the municipal and federal level, as a police officer and Senior Special Agent
with the United States Secret Service and in private practice. He earned his
Bachelor of Science degree in Public Safety Administration at William Paterson
University. He has two Graduate Certifications in Public Management from
Fairleigh Dickinson University. He also has a Master of Administrative Sciences
from Fairleigh Dickinson University and received his second Master's Degree in
Education in Administration and Supervision from Seton Hall University, in the
New Jersey State Police Graduate Studies Program (NJSPGSP). Mr. Murphy is a
certified instructor by the New Jersey Police Training Commission and teaches
in-service courses in supervision, stress, ethics, use of force and liability in
law enforcement. He has given lectures on diverse subjects, such as the future
of technology in security and law enforcement, executive security for senior
management, protective security surveys, counterfeit currency and other
obligations of the US Government to name just a few. He is also board certified
by the American Society for Industrial Security International as a Certified
Protection Professional.
Mr. Murphy is presently an
Assistant Professor at Ramapo College where he teaches course including:
Issues in
Criminal Justice; Contemporary Issues in Policing; Criminal Law; Topics:
Forensic Criminal Investigations; Comparative Criminal Justice Systems;
Criminology; Ethics in Criminal Justice; History of American
Criminal Justice, LAWS Field Studies, Independent Study Courses, Supervise
Thesis, Directed Readings. He is also the Acting Director of the Cap Stone
Field Study Program.
He was an adjunct professor
of Education at Seton Hall University in the NJSPGSP, where he taught ethics for
helping professionals, human relations, leadership dynamics, personnel
administration, and community relations. He also taught in the College of Arts
and Sciences at Seton Hall in the Criminal Justice Department.
Mr. Murphy is a member of
several professional associations, including:
American Society for Industrial Security,
National Fire Prevention Association, Federal Law Enforcement Association,
Association of Former Members of the United States Secret Service,
New Jersey Crime Prevention
Association,
Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, New Jersey Association of
Criminal Justice Educators,
American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers, Associate member
International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Kappa Delta Pi-Xi
Gamma Chapter of the International Honor Society in Education.
In addition to being
involved with various aspects of the security details for each president since
Richard M. Nixon, Mr. Murphy has also been involved in the planning of security
and serving on the protective security details for heads of state from: Russia,
Italy, Spain, Ireland, Venezuela, Israel, Germany, France, Morocco, Tunisia,
Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Congo, Poland, Pope John Paul, Cuba's
Castro, and others.

David M.
Murphy
David M. Murphy was appointed President & CEO on January 1, 2007,
upon Frank Murphy’s decision to work as a consultant for the company on a
part-time basis. David is the license qualifier at Murphy Associates. He began
his career with Murphy Associates in September of 1987. With nearly twenty
years of on-the-job investigative experience, David runs the day-to-day
operation of the company. In addition, he conducts investigations and
supervises all cases in the
office. His expertise is concentrated in the areas of in-depth background,
computer & Internet research; complex surveillance operations; matrimonial and
child custody cases, asset/liability research; due diligence; corporate and
insurance fraud; missing persons/skip traces; and criminal defense.
While working full-time, David received his Bachelor of Arts from William
Paterson University in Sociology with a concentration in criminal justice in
January 2000. He is a member of the Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology
Honor Society.
David is also a member of the New Jersey Licensed Private Investigators
Association, the National Association of Investigative Specialists, and the
National Council of Investigative and Security Services. David recently joined
the American Society for Industrial Security - International, where he will
pursue a certification as a Professional Certified Investigator (PCI). He is
also a member of the National Association of Legal Investigators where he is
pursuing the designation of Certified Legal Investigator (CLI).
In June 2007, Mr. Murphy began the process to obtain a NY State Private
Detective license in order to serve his clientele in New York.
